1.Overview

Garage Pro ("Garage Pro", "we", "us", "our") provides workshop management software for independent garages and workshop chains, used through garagepro.me, the workshop web app, and the Garage Pro mobile app (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect from workshop owners and staff who use the Service ("you", "your workshop"), and — separately — how workshop data about vehicle owners is handled on your behalf.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2.Data we collect

Account & workshop data — when you sign up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, garage/company name, city/state, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).

Operational data you enter — appointments, job cards, vehicle details, inspection checklists, estimates, invoices, parts/inventory records, staff roster and roles, and chat messages between your staff, all created and stored so the Service can function.

Photos — vehicle intake/inspection photos you or your staff upload, hosted via our image-hosting provider (Cloudinary) or embedded directly in your records.

Device & usage data — IP address, browser/device type, app version, and basic usage/log data (e.g. pages visited, feature usage, error logs) used to keep the Service reliable and to improve it.

Payment data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.

Communications — messages you send us via email, WhatsApp, or the in-app feedback tool.

3.How we use it

We do not sell your data or your customers' data to third parties, and we do not use your workshop's operational data to train third-party AI models.

4.Sharing & disclosure

We share data only with the service providers that make Garage Pro work, and only to the extent needed:

ProviderPurpose
Google FirebaseAuthentication, database (Firestore), and hosting
CloudinaryPhoto hosting for vehicle intake/inspection images
EmailJS / Google Apps ScriptTransactional email delivery
WhatsApp (via wa.me links)Optional customer status-update messages, sent from your own device/number
Payment processorSubscription billing, if applicable

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Garage Pro, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you).

5.Storage & security

Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with per-workshop access isolation enforced at the database rules level — one workshop's account cannot read another workshop's data. Passwords are never stored in plain text. Access to your workshop's data within the Service is gated by the roles you assign to your own staff.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work to protect your data but can't guarantee absolute security.

6.Retention & deletion

We retain your account and operational data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after cancellation in case you reactivate or need an export. You can request deletion of your workshop's account and associated data at any time by contacting us — we'll delete it within a reasonable timeframe, except where we're required to retain records by law (e.g. financial/invoice records).

7.Your rights & choices

Depending on where you're located, you may have additional rights under local law (e.g. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, or the EU/UK GDPR). We'll honor applicable rights requests — contact us to exercise them.

8.End-customer data (your customers)

As a workshop using Garage Pro, you are the data controller for the vehicle-owner data you enter into the Service (names, phone numbers, vehicle details, service history). Garage Pro acts as your data processor — we store and process that data on your behalf, under your instructions, to run the Service. You're responsible for having the appropriate basis (e.g. notice/consent) to collect and store your customers' data under applicable law, and for responding to your customers' own privacy requests about their data.

Public-facing features — the Track Repair page and estimate-approval links — expose only the specific job/estimate details behind a unique link or reference number, not a directory of your full customer list.

9.Cookies & tracking

The marketing site and web app use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (e.g. theme, language). We don't use third-party advertising trackers. Browser local storage / IndexedDB is used by the app for offline-friendly performance, not for tracking.

10.Children's data

Garage Pro is a business tool intended for workshop owners and staff. It's not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised policy.
